The St. Louis Community College Center
of Workforce Innovation (CWI) offers No-Fee Technical Job training in three
different professions. These programs
are grant funded and offered for limited periods of time at no cost to
qualified students. The programs include training for manufacturing jobs such
as Certified Logistics Technician. This
certification only requires 80 hours of training over a 15-day time period. The
Center for Workforce Innovation is also offering a course for a Commercial Driver’s
License(CDL).
According to Becky Epps, Program Manager for the Workforce Solutions Group,
“Truck driving jobs are in high demand right now so it’s a perfect resource to
use.” Job interviews are also available after successfully completing the
program. The third program offered is certification in aviation jobs. This
program includes an 8-week course in Avionics or a course in Aviation
Maintenance Technology. For more information on how to get started contact the
