The STLCC Archers baseball team shows hints of a promising season with a 20-13 record. With a recent four-game sweep against the St. Charles Community College Cougars and wins against both Lewis & Clark and Metropolitan Community College, the Archers’ bats and gloves are standing out in the conference.
Head Coach Scott Goodrich says the team is playing well and demonstrating solid defense. He’s also confident in the performances of his pitching roster which included Joseph Lodes, Seth Mesey, Jordan Yakel in recent games against St. Charles.
“We run three guys out there right now between Lodes, Mesey and Yakel,” Goodrich said. “They all give us a good effort and all give us a good chance to win every time.”
While the Archers are a composed group they let their play do the talking. The players respond quickly and effectively to their coaching staff. The assistants, Brandon Gargus and Garrett Bauer, coach players up in practice and games.
