Yo-Kai
Watch is a Japanese anime that has been dubbed over in America. It currently airs
on Disney XD and is on the way to its 3rd season. The show is about
a kid named Nate that frees a Yo-Kai or spirit. In turn the Yo-Kai befriends
him and gives him the Yo-Kai watch; which gives the wearer the ability to see,
summon, contact, and power up Yo-Kai. There are good and bad Yo-Kai and so it
leads Nate into situations between our world and a parallel dimension. October
15th Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie Event was released in English dub
nationwide in America.
Yo-Kai
Watch is directed, produced, and written by Mark Risley. Risley specializes in

The
English dub voice acting is stellar for this film. Johnny Yong Bosch reprises
his role as our main character, Nate. Bosch is one of the top names in the
voice acting industry, especially anime. His recent roles consist of: Digimon
Adventure Tri. (T.K.), Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Orga Itsuka),
and Sailor Moon Crystal (Artemis). Bosch is followed by the other voice actors
of this film: Joey D’Auria (Whisper), Meyer Deleeuw (Nathaniel Adams), and
Alicyn Packard (Jibanyan).
The
movie begins with Nate leaving school with his friends. Walking and talking,
the subject of Yo-Kai comes up and Nate has no clue on the matter. Then as
viewers watch on they notice Nate doesn’t even have the Yo-Kai watch on. What
is going on with Nate? Where is Whisper? Why are objects around town grow astronomically?
We’re sucked into a wild comedic ride of the world of Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie.
