Road construction continues around Flo Valley campus

New construction ramp closures on I-270 until November

As major construction continues around the Florissant Valley campus, students should be alert and prepare for more detours. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) continues construction work on and around I-270 with a month-long ramp closures beginning Monday, Oct 11 for the westbound exit ramp to Hanley Road/Graham Road.

Those driving westbound on I-270 to must exit at Washington Street/Elizabeth Avenue and travel west on Dunn Road to get to Hanley/Graham.

The construction began in April 2020 as part of a multi-year, multi-phase project stretching over 10 miles. The over $200 million job is expected to be completed by December 2023. Highway overpasses and bridges have been rebuilt along with several I-270 entrances and exits. Pershall Road, the outer road south of the highway, leads to the Florissant Valley campus and is one-way eastbound for a large stretch between Washington/Elizabeth and West Florissant.

An 18-month feasibility study, beginning in 2013, led to recommendations developed to help improve mobility, accessibility, public safety and infrastructure along the I-270 corridor in North St. Louis County. For more information on the I-270 North Project go to www.i270north.org/map/.
