The 2011 Women's Volleyball Season Comes to an End

By Jessica Penland

The St. Louis Community College Women's Volleyball team made it to the Region XVI Semifinals.  The Archers won their first round against Cottey College, but lost in round two on Saturday, November 7 to East Central.

The season started off to a rocky start.  They lost their first eleven matches.  The first four of those matches were a part of the College of DuPage Tournament.  Then the team lost against Lewis and Clark College.  The archers lost four more matches at the Lincoln Land Tournament.  The last two of those eleven matches lost were at the Lincoln Tournament, but that same tournament would be where the Archers earned their first win of the season.

Their first win was against College of DuPage at the Lincoln Tournament.  They won twice at that tournament.  Their second win was against the Elgin Communications College.

The women’s volleyball team would win four more games after that tournament, ending their season with a total of six wins.
