I knew that The Avengers would have a successful opening weekend but who would have thought that it would beat the rest of the Top Ten by over One Hundred and Sixty One Thousand dollars .
As for the movie, The Avengers is based off of the comic series in which a group of superheroes come together in order to fight a greater force. This group of Avengers included: Steve Rogers/Captain America (played by Chris Evans), Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and are led by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
Nick Fury is met by the powerful God of Asgard, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), as he has captured the Tesseract, which is a form of unknown amounts of energy.  Along his way he also manages to enslave Hawkeye (Renner) and Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard).  This causes Fury to enlist the aid of The Avengers Initiative and the members unite, but not without difficulties along the way.
Now I’m not going to ruin any more major plotlines for you, but I will tell you that if you are a fan of any of the super hero flicks that we have been getting overwhelmed with for the past five years or so then you will absolutely love this film! I’ve seen it twice already and I could go for seeing it one of two more times! I personally saw a midnight screening of it at a theatre in which they had six showings of it going all at once. I’ll say that the “fanboys” came out in full force and I don’t think there was a single disappointed sole in any of the six theaters. The only real bad part was trying to leave afterwards!
This was the most action packed super hero movie that I have ever seen and I personally think that the storyline was the most developed and entertaining of the genre as well. Now all you guys will love seeing The Black Widow in action as well (I just had to throw that in there).
All in all everyone should get out and see this film because it is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while and it is by far the best of the year so far.
