Congratulations to Janice Nesser-Chu who is an Art Professor and acts as Interim Dean of Liberal Arts is the 42nd David L. Underwood Memorial Lecture Award Recipient. Flo Valley created this award in honor of David L. Underwood who served as the chair of the Humanities-Communications division and later Underwood took on the job of dean of instruction in July 1967 and served until his death in 1975. Cathy Underwood daughter of Mr. Underwood and Mrs. Annabelle Underwood wife of Mr. Underwood have been in attendance at the revealing of the new recipient for every year. Once the announcement is made during National Library Week the new honoree gives a lecture during service week of the next fall semester.
