Ehlen honored with 44th Underwood Award

Ehlen Named 44th Underwood Award Recipient

Steve Ehlen won the 44th David L. Underwood Memorial Lecture Award in a continuation of the honored Florissant Valley tradition. Ehlen, supervisor of the technology learning center, began his career here at STLCC- Flo Valley as a student worker in 1977.

"This is an overwhelming honor, and I am truly humbled that I was even considered, much less receiving this award," said Ehlen. The award was presented during Library Week in April in the Underwood Library located in the Instructional Resources Building.

The award is named after former Library Professor, David L. Underwood, and recognizes veteran faculty and staff who have shown exemplary dedication, instructional excellence and commitment to the welfare of students and staff.

A host of St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley staff, faculty and retirees attended the announcement and the reception which followed. As the many honorees before him, Ehlen will present the Underwood Lecture during service week to kick off the fall semester.
