MCM graduate, Ray, garners Grogg


KCFV announces Ray as Grogg winner

   Alexandra Ray received the Phillip H. Grogg award recently in a ceremony held in the Terry M. Fischer Theater. Ray, a 2019 graduate of the FV mass communications program, garnered the recognition for her outstanding service and support to the KCFV 89.5 the Wave and the broadcast program. Ray served on the staff of the FV campus student publication, The Forum Newspaper, as an entertainment reporter. 
   Ray won a scholarship with her award, as well as her fellow nominees, DeAnna Donovan and Venetra Raff-Covington. In addition, another broadcast student, Dan Brueggen, won the Spirit of Diana Kirby award for his commitment to the station.

St. Louis broadcast legend, Charles “Charlie Tuna” Edwards, delivered an inspiring keynote address. Edwards said there will always be obstacles in the tough media world but encouraged students to keep going. Broadcaster Assistant Professor, Steve Bai, and KCFV General Manager, Paul Huddleston, presented the student awards.
